How to Play the Bible Verse Fill in the Blank Game
Each round has ten verses from the King James Version. One or two words are missing from each verse. In Choose the word mode, pick the right word from four choices. In Type the word mode, type the missing word yourself, which is harder. Press Check to see which answers are right. Every correct word is worth 10 points, or 7 if you used the first-letter hint.
After you check, the game shows the right answers, so each round is also a way to learn the verse. Press Play Again for a new round with different verses.
Why Fill in the Blank Works for Learning Verses
When you have to find a missing word, you must recall the verse instead of just reading it, and that is the best way to remember it. The missing words are the key words of each verse, such as shepherd in Psalm 23, light in Psalm 119 and everlasting in John 3:16. It is a quick game for a Sunday school warm-up, for homeschool Bible time or for a family around the table.
