Bible Matching Game: Match the Pairs

This free Bible matching game works in two taps. Tap an item in the left column, then tap the item in the right column that goes with it. A correct match turns green and stays on the board. A wrong choice flashes red and counts as a mistake, so you can try again. Clear all six pairs to finish a round, and finish three rounds to complete the game.

There are three sets to choose from, and each game draws a fresh mix of pairs, so the board is different every time.

People and Deeds pairs Bible heroes such as Noah, David, Esther and Paul with what they are known for. Verses and Books pairs short King James Version verses with the book they come from, which helps you learn where well-known verses live in the Bible. Events and Places pairs famous events with the place where they happened, from Bethlehem and Mount Sinai to Jericho and Golgotha.

Matching asks you to recall a link between two facts, which is how most Bible knowledge is built: a person with a story, a verse with a book, an event with a place. Repeating the game helps these links stick, and the mistake count gives a simple goal to beat next time. For a different kind of matching, try the card flipping of Bible Memory Games, or place the books in order in the Bible books game.

Project the game on a screen and let teams take turns choosing a match. Or play one round, then ask each child to tell the story behind one pair they matched. It works well as a Sunday school warm-up, a review at the end of a lesson or a quiet activity for a family evening. When you want a question-based challenge afterwards, play Bible Trivia or Bible Who Am I.
