The Bible Story

The Bible has many people with exciting stories: kings, shepherds, fishermen, queens and prophets. Each person's story tells us something about God.

This game helps everyone think about the details of each person, such as where they lived and what they did.

Verse to remember (Hebrews 11:1-2): The people of old were known for their faith. Their stories can still teach us today.

How to Play

  1. Sit in a circle. One player is the thinker and chooses a Bible person, such as Moses, Mary or David. The thinker whispers the name to the leader.
  2. The group takes turns asking yes or no questions, such as "Were you a king?" or "Did you live in the New Testament?"
  3. The thinker answers only "yes" or "no".
  4. Players may guess at any time during their turn. The group has 15 questions to find the answer.
  5. When someone guesses right, that person becomes the new thinker.
  6. If nobody guesses in 15 questions, the thinker tells a short fact about the person and everyone gives a cheer.

How it ends: Finish by telling one fun fact about each person who was chosen today.

Leader can say: “Every Bible person has a story that points us to God.”

For Every Age

For little ones: Let little ones choose from a short list of easy people, such as Noah, Jesus or Mary, and give extra clues.

For teens and adults: Older players can choose lesser-known people, such as Deborah, Barnabas or Lydia, and add a Bible reference when they answer.

Safety: Keep questions friendly and encourage helpers for shy players. Avoid choosing people whose stories are not suitable for young listeners.

Talk About It

After the game, sit together and ask:

  • Which Bible person do you like most?
  • What can we learn from their life?
  • What question gave the best clue?
