The Bible Story

The Bible tells us that truth matters. People who know what the Bible really says can tell what is true from what is only a guess.

True or false is a quick way to check what we know. It also gets everyone moving.

Verse to remember (John 8:32): Jesus said that the truth will set you free.

How to Play

  1. Choose a side of the room for "True" and the opposite side for "False". Everyone starts in the middle.
  2. The leader reads a Bible statement, such as "Noah built an ark" (true) or "Daniel was thrown into a fiery furnace" (false).
  3. Players move to the side they think is right. Moving costs nothing, and everyone can move at the same time.
  4. The leader gives the answer and one short fact. Players on the wrong side stay in the game, because everyone is learning.
  5. Keep score by giving a cheer to each side that is right.
  6. Play 10 to 12 statements, with easy ones first.

How it ends: Finish with the question that surprised most people. Ask what we can do to learn more of the Bible.

Leader can say: “Learning the truth is more fun when we do it together.”

For Every Age

For little ones: Use statements about very familiar stories, such as Noah, baby Jesus and David the shepherd.

For teens and adults: Older players can write their own true or false statements about the Bible for the group to answer.

Safety: Walk to the sides, do not run. Keep bags and chairs away from the middle of the room.

Talk About It

After the game, sit together and ask:

  • Which statement surprised you?
  • How can we check what the Bible really says?
  • Which story would you like to learn more about?
